COMPOSERS
ciclo The Feedback Study Series, su sintetizador digital MISS o
Universidad Pompeu Fabra (Music Technology Group).

Pablo Carrascosa Llopis (Ferrol,
1979). Born in Valencia in 1979, my first contact with music was
as bass guitar/singer in a Black/Death Metal band. When I turned
twenty, and while studying a Master Degree in architecture at
the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Valencia, I decided
to enrole the Conservatorio
Profesional de Música de Valencia in order to study classical guitar.
I had fun composing just by
ear but little by little this lead into something more serious and
academic in some way, so after
finishing architecture and guitar studies I decided to study a Bachelor
Degree in composition at
the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC), where I graduated
with honours being
first ranked in my promotion. My music has to do with silence, space
and musical objects –all of
them conceived from an abstract, architectural perspective–, but
also with the possible connections
between popular and educated, –specially extreme Metal and Contemporary
music.
I combine concert hall with cinema and commercials music composition,
working sometimes as
arranger as well. I am electronics performer in the duet with flute/recitation
A Noisy Catalogue
and give technical assistance in the contemporary music ensemble
CrossingLines. Since October
2017, I am teaching composition at Taller de Músics Escola Superior
d´Estudis Musicals in
Barcelona.
